Advanced Clinical Pharmacist - Clinical Learning and Development
We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking pharmacist to join Morriston Hospital in a role focused on clinical practice, education, training, and mentoring. This newly developed position combines clinical responsibilities with a strong emphasis on workforce development and training delivery. As the junior workforce grows and educational demands increase within the pharmacy team, the need for structured support through mentoring, coaching, research, and leadership has become essential. This role offers an excellent opportunity to remain involved in patient-facing work while shaping the future pharmacy workforce.
You will be a key member of the team supporting others' learning and development, contributing to a more resilient service and improved experiences for patients and staff. Support and mentorship will be provided to help you succeed and develop in this role. Education and training are central to high-quality clinical practice, with strong leadership embedded within the department. If you are passionate about supporting others' development, eager to build your leadership and mentoring skills, and committed to impacting patient care positively, we encourage you to apply.
Main duties of the job
This role involves supporting the delivery of education and training across the pharmacy team, including trainee pharmacists, technicians, undergraduates, and post-registrants. You will foster a positive learning environment through mentoring, coaching, and professional development support. The position includes a clinical component, enabling continued contribution to patient-facing services and medicines optimisation. This combination ensures clinical impact while supporting colleagues' growth and progression.
You will participate in training activities such as education sessions, supervision, and one-to-one support, as well as contribute to quality improvement and research initiatives. The role supports service resilience through participation in weekend and bank holiday rotas and aims to enhance the overall training experience at Morriston Hospital. You will collaborate with senior colleagues and the wider education team to meet site-level training needs, strengthening the department's capacity to deliver high-quality care and support a dynamic workforce.
