What To Expect
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process of our limited-run vehicles. This includes planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing activities to ensure that our products are produced efficiently, on time, and meet the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Production Planning: Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand whilst optimising resources and maintaining quality standards.
* Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production workers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
* Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control procedures to maintain high standards of product quality and consistency.
* Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and minimise production costs.
* Stock Control: Develop and implement comprehensive stock control systems to track and manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to support production needs.
* Purchasing: Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies required for production, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
* Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure timely production and delivery.
* Safety Compliance: Ensure that all manufacturing activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
* Budget Management: Manage the production budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
* Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, and supply chain teams to streamline production processes and address any manufacturing issues.
* Reporting: Prepare and present regular production reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and progress towards goals.
Other Responsibilities
* Health and Safety: Champion health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a proactive safety culture.
* Roadmap: Work with the leadership team to produce a future roadmap of vehicles.
What You Will Need
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, Automotive specific experience is a bonus.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
* Experience in inventory management, stock control, and purchasing processes within a manufacturing environment.
* Proven track record of successfully managing production teams and achieving operational goals.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
* Proficiency in production management software, inventory control systems, and procurement tools.
* Passion for automotive innovation and sustainability.
