Assistant General Manager – The Covered Wagon
The multi award winning Covered Wagon in South Birmingham is opening its second location in our favorite city of Coventry and is therefore looking for a highly motivated, energetic and driven Assistant General Manager to join our pub and restaurant.
Its not just a pub; its a celebration of British pub culture and Punjabi hospitality.
A little about us:
The Assistant General Manager will be central to creating a cool hot spot with an interior that combines old-world tradition and contemporary style, with a distinct award winning northern Indian menu.
The Long term the aim is to create a venue where the succulence of the food is legendary. With restaurant trained chefs who share a sincere love of authentic Indian food ensuring a richly varied array of delights.
To create an atmosphere that will attract families as well as groups of friends, colleagues, couples, by providing exceptional service and a desired menu.
Attracting new customers will always be at our forefront, extensive marketing campaigns through modern technology and maximizing our skills of social media.
The Role:
As an experienced Assistant Manager you will know the ins and outs of managing a mixed food pub: from stock control to driving sales you will be at the top of your game. You will be able to motivate and inspire your team to deliver unbeatable customer service. Confidence and personality are crucial in our pub
* To lead and manage a team of around 15 staff (including kitchen staff)
* You will be responsible for opening / closing the site including all reconciliation processes and procedures.
* To be accountable for the Health & Safety/ Hygiene of the business and report immediately any actions to be taken
* To drive and manage the financial aspects of the business - Sales, Wages, Profit and liaise with the owners weekly
* To be on top of recruitment needs and liaise with owners ahead of time to ensure staffing levels are correct especially for busy seasonal increases
* To have excellent people skills - to be able to motivate & inspire a team, to be able to manage and resolve any poor performance and to always lead by example.
* You must have outstanding customer service skills and a desire to always go above and beyond to wow customers
* Must have previous experience in a similar role with the confidence to handle busy moments.
* You must be flexible as business demands late night & weekend work
* To plan and execute marketing plans alongside the owners and optimize seasonal opportunities
