Finance Manager Birkenhead, Wirral £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) Full-time, PermanentTotal Staff Services are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Birkenhead.With a turnover exceeding £35m and a strong presence across the food and drink sector, our client is looking to strengthen their finance team with the addition of a hands-on Finance Manager who can support both the financial and operational performance of the business.The RoleThis is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail while also working closely with the wider business.You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring strong financial controls are in place across the business.Responsibilities will include:Ownership of monthly management accounts and year-end processesMaintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate financial reportingCash flow management and working capital oversightMonitoring costs, margins, and overall business performanceSupporting budgeting and forecasting processesStrengthening internal controls and ensuring audit readinessWorking closely with production, sales, and purchasing teams to provide meaningful financial insightSupporting and overseeing management information systems (ERP/MIS) to ensure data accuracyThe PersonWe're looking for someone who is practical, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.You'll ideally have:Experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant roleBackground within manufacturing, FMCG, or a production-led environmentStrong understanding of cost control, margins, and operational financeExperience managing or supporting a small finance teamConfidence working with ERP/MIS systemsExcellent communication skills with the ability to work across non-finance teamsIn terms of qualifications, candidates will typically be:CIMA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified, orQualified by experience with a strong track record in a similar environmentTPBN1_UKTJ
