The HR Advisor will actively support managers and employees in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including employee engagement, performance management, absence management, onboarding, discipline, and grievance.
This is an operational hands‑on role, supporting organisational change, coaching and advising managers, managing HR systems/data, and producing HR reports. This role reports to the HR Manager and will work closely with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out induction and onboarding of new employees
* Generate KPI reports and HR metrics in areas such as headcount, absence, diversity
* Drive improvements such as reducing absence and increasing staff retention
* Guide managers on discipline & grievance issues in line with legislation, policy and best practice
* Manage sickness absence and ensure consistent application of the absence policy
* Support managers with performance management activity
* Design, implement and deliver HR training to managers, providing coaching as necessary
* Lead employee wellbeing initiatives, creating a welfare culture
* Support project work, including employee engagement
* Conduct exit interviews, analyse trends and provide feedback
* Support and guide managers through the recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience
* Build effective relationships with stakeholders, providing guidance and advice as required
* Partner with the HR Administrator to ensure the accurate processing, provision and maintenance of data and systems
* Support L&D facilitation and administration
Skills and experience required
* Experience in a generalist HR role
* Understanding of current employment law, HR policy, practice and procedures
* Practical judgement and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to respond to competing priorities and a flexible approach to business demands
* Highly developed relationship management skills
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
