Our Plant in Gainsborough is 200 staff and this manages 6 direct reports
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Plant Manager / head of operations to take full responsibility for our operational performance. You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensure Safety, Quality, and Delivery targets are consistently met, and champion a culture of Continuous Improvement.
This role is pivotal to ensuring we remain the employer, supplier, and customer of choice while driving operational excellence and sustainable success across all business units.
What You’ll Do
* Lead all operational teams, driving performance and accountability across KPIs. - 6 direct reports
* Ensure compliance with global standards: IATF16949, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO45001/45003.
* Build a strong QHSE culture and maintain all certifications.
* Motivate, develop, and mentor direct and indirect reports — building succession pipelines.
* Drive engagement and empowerment to achieve world-class team performance.
* Deliver on Sales & Operations Planning with a focus on cost efficiency and margin growth.
* Lead and embed a Continuous Improvement culture, applying LEAN principles.
* Manage budgeting and CAPEX, ensuring financial and operational control.
* Strengthen customer and cross-business relationships across a global footprint.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven Plant Manager (or equivalent) experience in engineering/manufacturing. Or can suit a senior manger looking to step up, however understanding and delivering the fundamentals are essential
* Ideally a background spent in modern engineering, ideally some understanding of fabrication, welding, and essentially multi-shift environments.
* Track record of delivering against demanding OEM customer expectations.
* Demonstrated success in team leadership and KPI improvement.
* Experience with LEAN tools and QHSE standards.
* Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering/Manufacturing preferred; Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or similar) desirable.
