The Role
We are now looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our friendly, professional office-based team. This is a varied, client-facing role where you’ll manage bookkeeping tasks, prepare VAT returns, support payroll and CIS submissions, and work closely with Client Managers and Partners to deliver a first-class service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake bookkeeping at our office, and occasionally at our clients’ offices
* Preparation and submission of VAT Returns
* Attend meetings with clients to obtain necessary information
* Resolve tax queries and administer general correspondence from clients and external organisations.
* Preparation and submission of monthly Payroll and CIS Returns
* Run monthly and weekly reports to ensure VAT returns and bookkeeping work are planned, and deadlines are consistently met
* Coordinate with the Accounts team regarding Year-End accounts
* Communicate directly with clients and answer team and client enquiries
* Complete work accurately and comprehensively by using established systems and procedures (and suggest constructive improvements)
* Other duties commensurate with the position
About You
* Previous experience as a Bookkeeper within an accountancy practice
* Confident using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and similar software
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Able to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
* Excellent communication and client-service skills
* AAT / AATQB / ICB / ACCA / ACA qualified or part-qualified (desirable)
* UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
