Overview
We are looking for an organised and proactive Pathology Supplies Manager to oversee procurement, stock control, cold‑chain processes, and equipment servicing across our Pathology Service. You will ensure laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment are available safely, efficiently, and within financial and quality standards.
The role involves managing a small team, maintaining stock, liaising with suppliers and internal departments, and supporting service improvements and regulatory compliance. Experience in procurement or supply chain management—ideally within the NHS or a scientific environment—is essential.

Responsibilities
* Manage the procurement of consumables, reagents, and equipment, ensuring value for money and compliance with Trust policies.
* Oversee stock control processes, including ordering, receipting, storage, distribution, and disposal of items.
* Maintain accurate stock levels and lead regular stock‑take activities, producing relevant reports for senior staff.
* Administer digital stock‑control, e‑ordering and temperature‑monitoring systems, ensuring data accuracy.
* Lead cold‑chain governance, including monitoring temperature deviations and coordinating corrective actions.
* Coordinate equipment servicing, calibration and maintenance visits with suppliers and Estates.
* Produce stock, usage and financial reports to support procurement planning and decision‑making.
* Line‑manage Pathology Stores staff, providing supervision, training and performance review.
* Support training for staff across Pathology in procurement, stock systems and cold‑chain procedures.
* Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures relating to procurement, stock management and cold‑chain processes.
* Participate in audits, product trials and service improvement initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, confidentiality requirements and all relevant standards.
Qualifications
Experience in procurement or supply chain management—ideally within the NHS or a scientific environment—is essential.
