Are you a competent and multiskilled Refurbishment and Maintenance professional or builder looking for a new challenge?
We are seeking an experienced Refurbishment Operative to join our newly established Refurbishment team, working on refurbishing our children’s homes and schools as part of our expansion. You will be part of a team responsible for planned refurbishment, maintenance, and repair tasks such as plumbing, plastering, painting, basic electrical work, and gardening.
We require someone confident in carrying out various refurbishment, maintenance, and property upkeep tasks, with willingness to travel across the region to support our growth.
You will report to our Maintenance Manager, Graham, and be part of a team of three refurbishment professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in refurbishing homes and schools to readiness for opening, and perform other maintenance tasks as needed.
* Collaborate with the wider maintenance team across our properties.
* Follow all health and safety regulations and report issues promptly.
* As a key holder, manage opening and closing the premises daily.
* This role requires taking annual leave outside the standard school holiday period (July to September).
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Experience in general maintenance, with the ability to perform work to a high standard.
* Proficiency in plastering, building, and decorating to deliver comprehensive maintenance services.
* Basic plumbing knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills for effective liaising within the organization.
* Experience in the safe use of powered hand and bench tools.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Comfortable using IT systems; familiarity with Jira is a plus.
* A full driving license and flexibility to travel, including overnight stays, are essential.
