Job Description
Are you a qualified, confident and collaborative Quality Assurance Inspector who is passionate about doing things safely, properly, and in a way that works for our people and our customers?
Do you have strong technical knowledge and a practical understanding of industry standards, combined with great communication skills and a collaborative approach?
If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you here at EDF as a Quality Assurance Inspector within the EDF Customers Team!
The Opportunity…
Are you passionate about raising standards and making a real impact on frontline delivery? Join us as a Quality Assurance Inspector and become a key player in our Retail Metering Services Field Operations team.
In this dynamic, field-based role, you’ll use your technical expertise to carry out quality checks on live and completed installations across EDF and our partners—ensuring every job meets strict safety, regulatory, and procedural standards.
You’ll work together with district managers and operational leaders, identifying trends, driving improvements, and sharing insights that fuel continual progress. With a hands-on, coaching-led approach, you’ll support engineers and contractors through detailed feedback and collaborative learning, championing a culture of accountability and excellence. This is your chance to shape how we deliver metering services, making sure every customer experience reflects the high standards we’re proud to stand behind.
Pay, benefits and culture
Alongside a starting salary of £40,988, the potential to earn 3% bonus, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.
We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What you’ll be doing
* You are experienced in incident investigations, writing statements, and engaging with both customers and colleagues in a professional and supportive way.
* You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, managing your time and travel effectively, and adapting to a field-based role that includes regular travel and occasional overnight stays. A full UK driving licence is essential.
* Confidence with IT and data is also key. You’ll be expected to use insight to help identify trends, address root causes and make continuous improvements to safety, compliance and quality.
* You’ll know how to deliver constructive feedback in a way that supports learning and encourages ownership.
* You’ll need to be at least dual fuel qualified in metering, with solid experience in the field. Additional qualifications such as 3-phase, CT metering and medium pressure gas would be ideal, but if you don’t have them yet, we’re open to supporting the right candidate to develop these skills.
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who brings unwavering commitment to health, safety, wellbeing, and sustainability—a person who understands the value of doing the right thing for our people, our customers, and the planet.
You’ll be a champion of customer service, going above and beyond to deliver outrageously good experiences that leave a lasting impression. Your energy and enthusiasm will help foster a positive field environment, where excellence is the norm and challenges are met with passion.
Your experience in the utility industry and knowledge of field operations will give you a strong foundation, while your attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity will enable you to stay focused, even when things aren’t black and white.
Sound judgement and decisive thinking are vital—you’ll confidently navigate real-world scenarios and make choices that reflect our values. Paired with your resilience and determination, you’ll thrive when the pressure’s on, staying persistent and proactive through every twist and turn.
We value integrity above all. If you're honest, trustworthy, and discreet, you're exactly the kind of teammate we’re looking for. And as someone qualified in dual fuel smart metering—both electrical and gas—you’ll bring technical strength to a role where precision and safety truly matter.
If you’re excited about being part of something bigger, where your work shapes the future of our service delivery, we can’t wait to hear from you.
Closing date for applications: 2nd September
Locations: North London/East London
