You will hold a good (2:1) degree from a major university, be trained with a good city or regional law firm, and have at least five years’ post‑qualification experience in dealing with corporate work. This includes company sales, acquisitions, investments, demergers, capital reductions, and shareholder and regulatory matters such as shareholder agreements, LLP agreements, tax, and other restructuring.
Additional experience with share scheme work and secured lending is desirable, particularly familiarity with EMI schemes and/or other HMRC‑approved share schemes or loan and security documentation. This is not essential but preferred.
You will have dealt with deals up to around £40 m and led smaller deals from £0.5 k to £5 m, and be comfortable negotiating with City lawyers. Listing experience is not required. Contacts in corporate finance are helpful but not necessary.
You must be prepared to work at least three to four days a week in the office. Working from home is possible but depends on individual circumstances and is expected to be justified by strong performance.
The role is aimed at individuals who aspire to partnership, driven by a passion to "get the deal done" and willing to commit to partnership responsibilities, including mentoring and business development.
