Forge Minerals makes decarbonised minerals, like magnesium carbonate. Our patent-pending process produces negative-carbon magnesium carbonates which can directly replace high-emission materials used in many industrial applications like flame retardants, pharmaceuticals, and supplements. In doing so, we’re replacing some of the most carbon-intensive minerals in the world — with no green premium.
Forge is about to close its first major round, raising around £1m to underpin the optimisation and scale up of our system. We’re moving from lab trials to pilot and need an experienced engineer to lead this process and manage the design and integration of test rigs, oversee delivery, reduce technical risk, and ensure the system is safe, commercially scalable, and efficient.
This is a strategic and hands-on role: we’re looking for someone senior enough to help us avoid costly mistakes and guide our transition from lab to pilot. You’ll report to the CEO in the early days and work directly with the founding team and scientific partners to shape a robust, commercial-ready system.
The first major deliverable will be a robust Technology Development Plan (TDP) for the CEO — a clear, grounded roadmap covering stage-gates, partner roles, technical risks, budgets, and timelines from pilot through to commercial deployment.
