Building Services Technical Manager - Electrical Biased
Responsibilities
* Leading projects from their inception, ensuring designs are completed on time and in line with a client’s budget.
* Organising the production of MEP performance specifications to RIBA Stage 2/3 for the supply chain to tender on a D&B basis.
* Develop specifications, drawings and schedules.
* Carry out building surveys/appraisals and produce reports and recommendations for existing and/or new MEP services including BMS controls.
* Assist & advised the Estimation, Pre-Construction, and Design teams with key issues, problem solving, identification of risk, and budgeting of MEP services.
* Input into, and Evaluation of Sub-Contractor tender bids and design documentation.
* Assisting Sales in pitching projects and putting together MEP information for client presentations.
* Chair MEP site meetings, offer technical advice, and monitoring of sub-contractor progress.
* Review and Approval of Sub-Contractor technical submissions and drawings.
* Attend, and chair where appropriate, meetings with the client, the designers, specialist contractors and other team members.
* Assisting the Project Manager with void closure and periodic MEP inspections / sign off’s where required.
* Prepare commissioning programmes and manage the commissioning process where required.
* Contribute to the regular project reports and attend project meetings, including formal Quality Audits on ongoing and completed projects.
* Operational responsibility for delivery of building services engineering works in terms of compliance and quality.
Skills & Experiences
* Experience in the fitout industry, ideally with involvement in project values exceeding £5m+.
* Knowledge of mechanical, public health, electrical and life safety building services.
* Knowledge and understanding of local market and subcontractors.
* Knowledge of the pre-construction process, ideally with knowledge of managing the design phase of a project.
* Recognised qualifications in building services engineering.
* Knowledgeable of local building services codes of practice, and health & safety standards / systems.
* Ideally, experienced in the use of Microsoft Project / Vista and Construction Project Management software.
* Ability to collate information from the team to prepare and present the project report.
* A relationship focused approach to clients and sub-contractors.
