ASAP Start - Nurture Intervention Teacher - SEN / SEMH - Science - Maths - Guildford - Woking - Farnham

Are you a qualified or experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or career progression? Do you want to make a positive change to the lives of vulnerable young people? Do you like a challenge?

Role: Nurture Intervention Teacher
Salary: £29,344-£44,919
Location: Woking
School type: SEMH - Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs - Trauma
Start date: ASAP
Full-time: term-time only

The School:

This trauma-informed school for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs is set near Woking and offers significant learning opportunities for children aged 7-16. The team is happy, vibrant, and takes a restorative approach to supporting their students! You must be open-minded, keen to embrace challenges, and looking for an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the lives of vulnerable children with additional needs.

Role of Intervention Teacher:

As an Intervention Teacher (SEN / SEMH Teacher), you will be responsible for delivering creative and engaging lessons to small classes of children (max 8) with SEMH needs. You will teach the class across subjects and provide them with the learning they need to make good progress. There is a high staff-to-student ratio, and the school has a deep focus on addressing the educational, social, and therapeutic needs of students, focusing on individual happiness and wellbeing, where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Many children have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences, face barriers in life, and are more ‘at risk’ of negative outcomes. You will be instrumental in providing consistency, equipping children and young people with tools to ensure they feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life. You will have the ability to create interactive, therapeutic, and meaningful lessons, helping children reach their full potential.

Requirements for Intervention Teacher:

1. QTS/QTLS OR have relevant experience as a teacher
2. Professional or personal experience working with vulnerable children, with additional needs, challenging behaviours, or mental health needs
3. We want to hear from ALL teachers. If you are interested in a teaching approach that is holistic and therapeutic but don’t necessarily have this experience yet, please still enquire

This is your opportunity to make a real difference!
