Job Description Chief Accountant Derby, UK Derby/Hybrid – minimum 3 days on site per week What you will be doing: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chief Accountant to join the Technical and Assurance team in Derby. The Chief Accountant role provides a rare opportunity to gain statutory and governance experience through a broad range of responsibilities, exploring the breadth of the Civil Aerospace network and the chance to build a network of finance and non-finance colleagues. Responsibilities: Act as a key contact to PwC to ensure audit requirements are met Be pivotal in the Civil stewardship journey and provide compliance, procedure, and policy support for stakeholders Support the business with the application of Group Finance and Civil Aerospace finance manuals Attend balance sheet reviews with finance teams and business stakeholders and challenge to ensure robustness Maintain delegated authority listings and approve SAP finance access Group Tax contact and responsibility for Senior Accounting Officer compliance and buy off with Civil CFO. Main contact for statutory reporting, governance, tax and audit issues for Middle East and other Civil overseas branches Prepare the FX sentencing reports and other key documents for statutory reporting and audit purposes Be a central Blackline contact for Civil and a local administrator Acting as the second line of defence, be a governance expert, prepared to be involved in a number of ad hoc requests as the Civil contact Why Rolls-Royce? Qualified accountant with understanding of statutory accounting requirements Ideally experience of audit processes and responding to Connect deliverables Proactive, accountable, good attention to detail and able to work using own initiative.
