Are you a natural relationship-builder with a passion for sales and a flair for creating unforgettable events? We’re looking for a driven and ambitious Sales & Events Manager to join our team and help shape the next chapter of our beautifully refurbished hotel.

Set within a charming 16th-century coaching inn, our hotel blends historic character with modern comfort. Proudly recommended in the Michelin Guide, we’re located in the vibrant market town of Bridport on the Jurassic Coast—a truly special setting that attracts both locals and visitors alike.

With five stunning event spaces—from intimate private dining rooms to an elegant Georgian ballroom and a rustic hayloft—the venue offers huge scope for weddings, celebrations, and corporate events. Having recently undergone refurbishment, the business is full of untapped potential—ready for the right person to step in, make their mark, and drive it forward.

The Role
This is more than just a sales role—it’s an opportunity to take ownership while remaining hands-on in the delivery of exceptional events. You’ll be responsible for growing revenue, building strong local relationships, and ensuring events run seamlessly alongside an experienced and passionate team.

Key responsibilities include:

* Effectively executing the hotel’s sales and events strategy
* Delivering pre-booked revenue and covers targets
* Driving additional business through proactive outbound sales activity
* Managing and maintaining systems such as Collins, Atreemo & Tonic
* Keeping accurate customer records and providing performance reports
* Managing social media platforms and online presence (including website and listings)
* Identifying local market opportunities and key events to drive new business
* Maximising conversion through timely, clear, and engaging communication
* Creating and supporting the delivery of bespoke events throughout the year
* Taking a hands-on role in running events, working closely with our well established kitchen and front of house teams
* Delivering excellent customer service across all touchpoints (in person, phone, and email)
* Communicating effectively with all departments to ensure seamless event delivery

What We’re Looking For

* A strong background in sales, ideally within hospitality or events
* A highly customer-focused, commercially aware mindset
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* A solid understanding of event operations and venue management
* Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
* A proactive, driven individual who thrives on achieving targets
* A creative approach to problem-solving and generating new ideas
* High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects
* Confidence in negotiation, sales, and marketing
