Contract DevOps Engineer (AWS, Terraform, Docker, ECS...)
Location: Remote (UK Based)
Rate: £450–£500 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: 4 Months initially, highly likely extensions
We're partnering with a rapidly growing technology consultancy delivering a major cloud transformation programme for a leading UK retail organisation. As the project continues to scale, we're looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join the team and help drive automation, platform reliability and cloud infrastructure delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure
* Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
* Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable software delivery
* Support containerised workloads and deployment strategies
* Work closely with engineering teams to improve automation, observability and platform resilience
* Drive DevOps best practices across deployment, monitoring and operational processes
* Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues across complex cloud environments
* Contribute to platform scalability, security and performance improvements
Essential Experience
* Strong commercial experience with AWS cloud services
* Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
* CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
* Docker and containerisation
* Container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, ECS or similar)
* Infrastructure automation and configuration management
* Experience supporting production cloud environments
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Desirable Experience
* Retail or high-volume customer-facing platforms
* Monitoring and observability tooling
* GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar
* Cloud security best practices
* Consultancy or client-facing project experience
