About Our Client
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Credit Controller to join an experienced and competent Credit Control team based in Rochdale. You will play a key role in managing the company's credit control function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Job Description
The key responsibilities of a Senior Credit Controller will include:
3. Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and maintaining strong client relationships
4. Chasing overdue invoices via phone, email, and written correspondence
5. Reducing aged debt and ensuring timely cash collection
6. Assessing credit risk and setting or reviewing customer credit limits
7. Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts
8. Investigating and resolving invoice queries and disputes
9. Producing aged debt reports and monitoring debtor days
10. Supporting cash flow forecasting and financial reporting
11. Working closely with sales and operations teams to resolve account issues
12. Escalating high-risk or non-paying accounts when necessary
13. Negotiating payment plans with customers
14. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
15. Assisting with month-end and year-end processes
16. Ensuring compliance with company policies and credit procedures
17. Identifying and implementing improvements to credit control processes
The Successful Applicant
The Successful Senior Credit Controller will have:
18. Previous experience in a Credit Controller role
19. Strong communication and negotiation skills
20. Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
21. Confident using accounting systems and Strong Microsoft Excel skills - Pivots and V/X lookups
22. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
23. Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
