Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an Underground Structures Business Development lead to support the business development activities in our Foundations and Geotechnics team (FNG). Sitting within our Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) Division you will work on and support pursuit of some of the world’s biggest and most complex projects in a role that cuts across sectors and geographies and interfaces with many other parts of the business. We are looking for a client focused individual with a track record of winning and delivering complex underground structures projects from concept design through to Design and Build to join our award-winning Geotechnics team. You will be part of a global practice with access to some of the industry’s best minds working on deep basements, shafts, cut & cover tunnels and large retaining structures.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the Foundation and Geotechnics Principal Account Leader in delivering the wider BD strategy for Ground Engineering and the Heavy Civils & Infrastructure division.
* Identify and capture the right opportunities in underground structures, positioning and building relationships with clients, crafting compelling value propositions and assembling bid teams to secure successful outcomes.
* Work with the Development Team and Client Directors to engage clients meaningfully and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
* Preparation and implementation of market plans, customer management plans and prospect capture plans.
* Profile raising through championing the MM Geotechnics profile through enhanced internal and external communications and industry presence.
* Working with the Geotechnics resource manager to define project resource / skill needs.
* Maintain a collaborative delivery approach across project teams, supply chain, partners, and client teams.
* Deliver to budget, programme, and quality, leading profitable projects that deliver success for our clients and communities.
* Supporting delivery of the Geotechnics and wider Heavy Civils & Infrastructure business plan objectives.
Candidate Specification
* Extensive experience of delivering major design projects in a senior project role.
* Broad knowledge of underground structures design methodologies and construction practices.
* Project, financial, programme and resource management skills.
* Strong experience in and build markets and major heavy civil infrastructure projects, including a strong network of contacts and relationships.
* Capable of presenting strong and succinct messages to different audiences, as well as creating rapport and respect with clients and colleagues.
* Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships internally and externally.
* Proven business development skills with demonstrable experience of developing value propositions and writing winning technical and commercial proposals.
* BEng / BSc civil engineering (or related subject).
* Chartered Engineer (or equivalent).
* Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (or equivalent).
* Flexible in working location where the need arises and willing to travel.
* Highlight additional language skills in your application.
