Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, along with proven leadership skills to manage kitchen operations effectively. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained, while also fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
* Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu standards
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations
* Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings
* Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste
* Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food preparation, and safety protocols
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant environment
* Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team
* Comprehensive knowledge of food production techniques and kitchen operations
* Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating exceptional dishes
* Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations
* Previous experience in hospitality is advantageous
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
