This position will involve design and analysis for sustaining and new product activities. The Design Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
* Create drawings and other engineering documents in accordance with engineering procedures.
* Carry out FEA and manual calculations to support existing product lines or new products.
* Assembly and testing of new and existing products.
* Issue testing procedures and reports.
* Support the workshop operations by creating and maintaining work instructions and procedures.
* Keep project files updated in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Support & control procurement and inspection of prototype components.
* Maintain electronic media, engineering filing system and hardware in an appropriate manner.
* Support Sales and Marketing by creating relevant documentation such as renders, spec sheets and tool layouts.
Experience / Qualifications:
* A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or a similar discipline) is essential.
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the mechanical design of downhole oil and gas products is essential.
* Applicants should have experience in the testing and assembly of downhole tools.
* Experience in FEA analysis is essential.
* CFD analysis experience would be beneficial.
* Applicants will be expected to have experience in some or all of the following areas: mechanics, hydraulics, fluid flow, risk analysis, and API standards.
