Bury Grammar School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic
IT Apprentice
to join its dedicated IT Services team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about technology to begin their career in IT while working in a professional and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of IT support areas, including maintaining workstations, supporting networks, and assisting staff and students with day-to-day technical issues. Full training and support will be provided, enabling the apprentice to develop valuable skills and work towards a recognised IT qualification.
In this role, youll work towards yourLevel 3 IT Support Apprenticeship,delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
Infrastructure & Network
Support installations, maintenance, audits, updates, asset tracking, and system improvements
Workstations
Install, secure, update, audit, and optimize hardware/software and OS deployments
Communications
Support email system and ensure security/integrity
Help Desk
Provide 1st/2nd line support, escalate issues, improve procedures, and maintain documentation
AV Support
Maintain, set up, and troubleshoot AV equipment
Database
Manage updates, backups, fault resolution, and process improvements
General Duties
Manage IT stock, staff ID cards, health & safety compliance, cross-department support, flexible hours, and training
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

4pm with a 30 minute lunch

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
Grade 4 in Maths and 5 in English is essential for this role
Desire to learn and develop skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Keen to progress in a career in IT

Experience of providing excellent customer service
