Whatdoes an Senior Financial Accountant doat Collinson
The Senior FinancialAccountant will work within the Central and Loyalty FinancialReporting team of the Collinson Group. They will work as anintegral part of the finance team responsible for a range ofentities across Loyalty and Central Service business areas. Theywill work with the Head of Financial Reporting and the FinancialReporting Manager to help oversee the monthly management accountssupport the production of the statutory accounts and act as a keypoint of contact during the audit process.
TheSenior Financial Accountant will provide oversight on theproduction of the monthly management accounts for all Centralentities reviewing the completeness and accuracy of the results.They will provide input and support for regulatory reportingbalance sheet reconciliation and other tasks relating to theentities within the Central and Loyalty Finance team. They willalso provide technical accounting guidance across the team activelydrive support and implement process/ system changes within the teamensuring a strong and effective control environment existsstandardising where possible with a specific emphasis on improvingand reducing month end closetimeline.
Key responsibilities ofthis role include:
* Leadthe team to drive improvements to establish improve and maintainhigh quality and timely managementaccounts
* Delivering monthly management accountsincluding variance analysis and commentary highlightingopportunities & threats and responsibility to presenting tointernal customers
* Delivery of annual GroupStat Packs and internal compliance declarations ensuring they arecompleted in line with Group policies and deadlines for thespecified entities
* Line management for 34 staffincluding objective setting and monitoring of those objectives.Develop and motivate staff by providing them with clear directionto achieve their goals
* Management of thefinancial accounting and reconciliation for the monthly payrollprocesses
* Ensure balance sheet reconciliationsare produced in line with agreed timings are clean and anyoutstanding items have clear ownership and actions and are followedup
* To provide oversight of the intercompanyposition ensuring this is reconciled monthly to agree with theother group entities and settled as per Grouppolicy
* To collaborate with the CommercialFinance Business Partners to ensure good understanding of thebudgets and forecasts to support accurate accruals prepayments andad hoc journals that are required to be posted into the month endmanagement accounts ensuring a high level of accuracy andunderstanding exists across the team
* Supportthe wider Finance Operations team to ensure all transactionsprocessed are accurate and complete and recorded in a timelymanner
* Support the Head of Financial Reportingand the Financial Reporting Manager on all audits (including butnot limited to internal 3rd party oryearend). Assisting with the management of audit requests to ensureevidence is sufficient
* Oversight of thefinancial position of the Group funding entity including interestcalculations FX exposure and reconciliation to the treasurysystem
* Assist with continuous embedding anddelivery of the Finance Transformationproject
* Ensure robust controls are in placeadherence and look to enhance wherepossible
* Keeping abreast of technicalaccounting developments to ensure that the impact of changes isunderstood and applied on a timely basis providing accountingguidance across the team.
* Ensuring all processdocuments are in place regularly reviewed andupdated
* Strive to deliver continuous processimprovements delivering best in classprocesses
* Support in the review of anyregulatory reporting as required
* Ownership ofthe periodic VAT returns
* Play an active role inthe ongoing embedding of the new accounting software MicrosoftDynamics.
Keyskills and experience to be evidenced within your applicationinclude
* Qualified Accountant (ACCA CIMA ACAor Equivalent) with at least 3 years post qualifiedexperience.
* Good knowledge of MicrosoftDynamics accounting systems preferable
* Highpersonal levels of motivation and delivery orientated focus
* Evidence of continuous improvementexperience
