We're looking for a strategic and visionary Senior Product Manager to lead the design and development of next-generation cloud data platforms replacing legacy systems and driving real impact for millions of UK citizens. You'll take ownership of our data platform roadmap, leading cross-functional teams to deliver powerful, scalable cloud-based solutions that support advanced analytics, insight generation, and smarter decision-making across DWP. Job Description: Own and evolve the product strategy and roadmap for cloud-based data platforms, ensuring alignment with DWP's transformation agenda. Oversee the transition from legacy data warehouses to new cloud-based architectures, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum business value. Advocate for user needs in complex backend processing environments, ensuring data products meet the demands of analytical, audit, and insight-focused users. Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Architects and the wider D&A and Digital Group to deliver integrated, scalable data solutions. Promote data-driven thinking and practices across the organisation, influencing teams to build with data in mind, aligned to our "hub and spoke" model. Support and guide other Product Managers within the Data Platforms team, building capability and consistency in product practices, while also providing line management to ensure their development, performance, and wellbeing. Engage confidently in discussions around both legacy and modern data ingestion, storage, and exploitation techniques. This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. Salary Information Pay for this role is from £72,664 to £77,740. Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview. Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary. Employment history - this should contain your work experience and any skills, qualifications and accomplishments relevant to the jobs you have completed. 3. Personal statement - up to 1000 words. This statement should be used to provide examples of how you meet the essential criteria below: A good understanding of modern data architectures e.g. Data Warehouses and Data Lakehouse, and an understanding of ETL/ELT processes. Experience of leading technical and non-technical stakeholder engagement to represent the user in all product and prioritisation decision making. Experience of working in an agile team with a focus on iterative engineering development. Strong communication skills for engaging with customers, engineering, stakeholders and senior executives. Proven ability to coach and develop multidisciplinary teams, manage performance, and build a collaborative high performing environment aligned with organisational goals. 4. Technical statement (up to 250 words). The following statement is aligned to the required technical skill of Product Management. Experience of leading a data platform product strategy and roadmap; showing the ability to translate technical and user needs into data platform capabilities and features, ensuring alignment to strategic business needs. The sift panel will use the information in your employment history, personal statement, and technical statement to assess your experience, skills and knowledge. Stage 2: Interview If you're successful at sift stage you will be invited to a video interview via Microsoft Teams. There, you will be assessed against the experiences listed above. You will be asked to do a 10 minute presentation on a specific topic. Further details will be provided to candidates invited to interview. Interviews will take place from early July 2025.
