Overview
Head of Engineering Operations - Industrial Automation - North West - Hybrid / Flexible Working - Permanent - £60-70k + car or allowance + 8% pension contribution. Samuel Frank is recruiting a Head of Engineering Operations to join a small but well-established industrial automation consultancy located on the South side of Manchester.
The successful Head of Engineering Operations will run the business operations including the engineering team and will be someone who thrives on responsibility and is comfortable working in a small business. Previous experience of working for a supplier in the process/manufacturing industries is key; system integration, machine building or OEM type experience is required.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver operational strategies aligned with growth objectives
* Lead and grow a small, high-performing team of client-facing engineers and consultants
* Drive digital transformation and process optimisation
* Promote a high-performance culture, fostering talent development and succession planning
* Manage P&L, budgeting and commercial approvals
* Drive a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
* Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers and partners
* Oversee compliance, risk management, security and safety standards
* Deliver operations/solutions in the chemical, power generation and food & beverage sectors as the company operates in various sectors
Working arrangements
* Working hours are flexible — you can take time for personal commitments (e.g., lunch breaks) and set your own start/finish times
* All the team attend the office on a Monday and most attend on Wednesdays; otherwise you’ll be at home or visiting customers
* Working week is 37.5 hours
* Office is commutable from most of the North West; you are required to be in the office 2 days a week
