Essential
* Electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds equivalent
* BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* HV switching / authorisation certification (or willingness to train)
Responsibilities
* Carry out electrical installations and minor mechanical installation and repairs.
* Become the site's electrical lead (AP) for both LV & HV.
* Carry out planned maintenance inspections of plant and facilities (electrical and mechanical).
* Emergency lighting checks, compressed air checks, fire extinguisher checks.
* Provide feedback on completed checks including remedial actions required.
* Preventative and reactive maintenance (electrical and mechanical).
* Manage the CMMS system to deploy the PM plan.
* Diagnose and repair faults to minimise downtime.
* Manage specialist contractors on site, including issuing permits.
* Support plant upgrades by proposing or executing small projects.
* Participate in daily tier meetings and provide appropriate support.
* Project management using Management of Change.
* Out of hours support as required; provide cover for Maintenance Manager when unavailable.
* Oversee engineering works out of hours, electrical isolations, and contractor management.
* Undertake smaller projects as required by the Maintenance Manager.
* Investigate HSE matters and advise actions accordingly.
* Supervise multiple teams of contractors and approve contractor risk assessments.
* Issue permits to commence work.
* Drive a MEWP (IPAF class 3A and 3B).
* Drive a crane (Desirable).
* Inspect and tag lifting accessories (Desirable).
* Inspect and repair industrial racking per SEMA standards (Desirable).
* Modify electrical circuits for small projects and configure managed switches for site-wide upgrades.
* Undertake more detailed scheduled inspections and repair defects identified by inspections.
