Project Engineer – Mechanical Equipment

Overview:
We are seeking a technically capable Project Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical and electrical plantroom equipment. This role will focus on coordination of technical deliverables, submittals, vendor information, and project documentation, playing a vital support role for the Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in producing and managing technical documentation including:
P&IDs, layout drawings, schedules, data sheets, and submittals.
Review vendor and supplier documentation for compliance with project requirements.
Track and respond to technical queries (RFIs), action logs, and interface issues.
Liaise with procurement and fabrication teams to ensure technical alignment.
Coordinate with subcontractors and fabricators on drawing approvals and material requirements.
Maintain project document control in line with internal systems.
Participate in inspections, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and final quality checks.
Experience and Skills Required:
Experience in a project engineering or mechanical coordination role within M&E, HVAC, or Special Purpose Equipment.
Good understanding of mechanical systems, piping, and equipment.
Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors in a technical capacity.
Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, piping schematics, and fabrication models.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage technical documentation.
Certifications/Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of QA/QC procedures and mechanical fabrication standards.
