An established and growing manufacturing business in the Midlands is looking for an Assembly Production Coordinator to join their planning team on a permanent basis.
Located near Lichfield / Tamworth, this role would be ideal for those commuting from Walsall, Leicester, Hinckley, Nuneaton, Sutton Coldfield, Coventry and surrounding areas.
Operating within a highly technical manufacturing environment, this organisation produces precision-engineered products which are supplied to market-leading customers globally. This role is a key part of the planning function, ensuring assembly teams have the materials, jobs, equipment and coordination needed to keep production moving efficiently.
The Role
As an Assembly Production Coordinator, you’ll play a central role in supporting assembly operations by ensuring work is issued, materials are available and communication flows between departments.
Working closely with the planning team and experienced senior planners, you’ll help coordinate daily activity across assembly lines so production can run without interruption. Progress chasing, ensuring departments are meeting customer schedules and expectations and identifying any potential challenges or issues which may impact production.
You’ll be someone who enjoys keeping things organised in a fast-moving manufacturing environment and is confident communicating across teams to resolve issues quickly.
Key Responsibilities

Issuing jobs to the assembly team to maintain a continuous workflow
*
Chasing materials and components to ensure availability for builds
*
Communicating with assembly operators and team leaders to support line builds
*
Monitoring schedules and identifying potential delays or issues
*
Working with planning colleagues to highlight and resolve problems
*
Liaising with departments including purchasing, sales, quality and production
*
Supporting the planning team with data management and ERP system updates
*
Ensuring accurate planning information within the business system
*
Assisting with stock control activities when required
Skills & Experience
*
Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment
*
Understanding of production flow (machining, fabrication or assembly)
*
Experience using MRP or ERP systems
*
Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with multiple teams
*
Good organisational and problem-solving abilities
*
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly
*
Strong Excel or data handling skills
