Job Title
Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Band 6) – Part time, 4 days per week – Fixed Term Contract for 1 year (Secondment Opportunity)
Location
Lochgilphead, Mid Argyll and Kintyre
Responsibilities
* Provide direct clinical care, including specialist occupational therapy assessment, treatment and management of children and young people with diverse and complex presentations, including multi‑pathologies and challenging behaviours.
* Work closely with the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team Lead based in Helensburgh and with multidisciplinary teams across community paediatric services.
* Develop and deliver outstanding paediatric occupational therapy services, identifying and seizing opportunities for service improvement and innovation.
* Engage with local families, schools and community groups to support children’s development and well‑being.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree or equivalent qualification as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist.
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Evidence of postgraduate learning in a paediatric related field.
* Experience in community paediatric services, including MDT working and service change/development.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills; awareness of regional and national paediatric strategies.
* Ability to innovate and deliver high‑quality services.
Requirements
* UK driving licence and access to a car.
* Willingness to work the part‑time schedule (4 days per week) in the Lochgilphead area.
