We are currently recruiting for a Controls System Technician onsite at Grain to ensure the safe and reliable operation of Grain LNG’s assets through maintenance of the terminal control and safety systems, including operation, modification, and maintenance activities.
As a Controls System Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining control system equipment, fault investigation, equipment repair, modifications, minor operational projects, and assisting with commissioning activities to ensure efficiency, safety, and security.

The role is based onsite at Grain (Kent). You will need to be able to drive there and must have a full clean license.
Key Accountabilities
* Collaborate with Process, Commercial operations, stakeholders, and contractors to maximize efficiency through the annual plan.
* Identify training needs within your area to ensure competence and flexibility for current and future workloads.
* Maintain accurate data records for management and regulatory reporting of KPIs.
* Keep detailed records of system changes.
* Ensure the availability and reliability of safety and process-critical systems.
* Participate in standby and emergency response readiness as per the terminal’s EIMS.
* Supervise contract personnel working on projects or maintenance.
* Complete work independently, often in remote locations within the site boundary.
* Adhere to safety guidelines, including Golden Rules, and complete necessary documentation such as MoC, NRO, PTW.
About you
We seek candidates who are experts or potential experts in their field, with skills including:
* Innovative thinking and understanding of gas installation plant and machinery.
* Customer focus and strong interpersonal skills.
* Fault-finding experience.
* Field control and instrumentation expertise.
* Experience with ICSS, PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systems.
* Knowledge of safety systems, emergency shutdowns, HIPPS, and fire & gas detection.
* Familiarity with industry standards such as COMAH, ATEX, DSEAR, EMMUA 191, BS EN 61508, BS EN 61511, and UKAS.
* Cyber security fundamentals for industrial control systems.
* Control systems experience in pharmaceutical or petrochemical environments is advantageous.
* Experience with project development within IACS is a bonus.
What you'll get
* A salary between £43,000 and £53,000, depending on capability.
* Market supplement of £5,500 annually (paid monthly).
