Your Impact Lead the HSE strategy across a sophisticated, highly automated manufacturing environment at the heart of Sheffields advanced engineering ecosystem Build a proactive, engaged safety culture that supports innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth Collaborate with engineering, automation, operations, and project teams to design safety into new processes, systems, and products from concept to commissioning Manage risk across robotics, high-pressure systems, hazardous processes, and complex automated production lines Ensure compliance with UK HSE and environmental regulations while driving continuous improvement through data-led insights Act as a trusted representative for regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders Key Duties & Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain the site HSE strategy in alignment with company objectives and UK regulatory requirements Provide expert support and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees on all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action planning Conduct regular site audits, inspections and risk assessments, ensuring robust controls are in place Monitor and report on HSE performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement Manage HSE training programmes to ensure competency across the workforce Maintain and enhance ISO certifications (ISO 45001, ISO 14001), working closely with internal and external auditors Champion initiatives that strengthen site safety culture and environmental sustainability Liaise with regulatory bodies, external stakeholders and emergency services as required Undertake additional duties aligned with business needs and personal competencies What Youll Need A recognised HSE qualification (NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 5/6, or equivalent) Proven experience in a HSE role within a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation Experience leading audits, risk assessments and improvement programmes Confidence working with engineering, automation and technical teams A track record of supporting growth, transformation or operational scale-up Strong influencing skills and the ability to drive behavioural change at every level A proactive, solutions-focused mindset suited to a fast-moving, innovation-driven environment
