We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Supply Teacher of Biology to join a high-performing secondary school in Ilkley. This position is to cover a period of maternity leave and offers the opportunity to teach motivated pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a well‑resourced and supportive Science department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging and challenging Biology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
2. Plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
3. Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
4. Work collaboratively with the wider Science team to support pupils’ progress.
5. Contribute to assessments, marking, and reporting where required.
Requirements
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
7. Strong subject knowledge in Biology and experience teaching at secondary level.
8. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
9. Amitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
10. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
