Data Product Manager- vAPOC
Job Description Summary:
As a Product Manager for vAPOC (Virtual Airport Operations Center), you will oversee the lifecycle of products that improve airport efficiency, passenger experience, and operational workflows. Your work will directly impact areas such as flight scheduling, ground handling services, passenger processing, baggage handling, and overall airport security systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure that the products meet market needs and adhere to regulatory standards.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree: Preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specializations in data management, analytics, or business can be advantageous.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
* Understanding of Data Technologies: Knowledge of technologies and frameworks used in processing near real time data, events, micro-services
* Data Analysis and Management: Skills in data analysis and the ability to manage large datasets effectively.
* Product Management Tools: Proficiency in product management software and tools.
Experience:
* Product Management Experience: Proven experience in product management ( minimum 3 years), particularly in fields related to data, analytics, or technology.
* Industry Experience: Familiarity with travel tech industry specifically airport and airline operations
* Project Leadership: Experience in leading and managing projects, including cross-functional teams.
Common accountabilities:
• Has the required technical/functional knowledge and experience in Airport operations. Knowledge of the Amadeus business and how it is related to own area.
• Works using existing procedures or guidelines and provides inputs to support/influence area decisions. Makes recommendations on new solutions and proposes improvements by analyzing different sources of information.
• Works with a moderate level of guidance and direction from manager.
Specific accountabilities:
• Articulate & Develop value propositions and key messages corresponding to problem statements, and articulate them into new product concepts or upgrades.
• Define the product strategy, vision & the business value in line with the business owners and other relevant stakeholders.
• Analyze solution offerings of competitors and define the strategic positioning of the product in alignment with Product Marketing Management.
• Manage 3rd party partnerships: requirement definition and prioritization, coordination of product evolution and other activities with the partner.
• Embark Amadeus teams on product vision, share product knowledge and ensure mutual understanding of the business.
• Support co-innovation with customers to validate customer value drivers, define features of the products (MVP and beyond), and prioritize based on effort and expected business value.
• Define and manage product roadmap; socialize and align timelines with relevant stakeholders. Work closely with Product Marketing Management, Operations (Customer Service/Delivery/Go To Market) and R&D teams to define priorities and releasing plan for new products or upgrades.
• Coordinate different functional and technical streams with R&D teams to ensure end to end solution consistency.
• Manage the budget for area of responsibility including capacity planning with R&D.
• Participate in Agile events (Lean Portfolio Management, PI planning, System demos, Inspect and Adapt workshops…) when applicable / required.
• When applicable, fulfill Product Owner role or ART PM and work with R&D teams to maximize the agile teams outcome.
• Ensure solutions (to be) released meet the users needs and product readiness guidelines.
Candidates with certifications in product management, data analytics, Agile methodologies, or related fields may have an additional edge. It's also beneficial if the candidate has a portfolio showcasing previous successful projects in product management.
