Credit Manager
Location: Birmingham (hybrid)
Team: Up to 8 (and growing)
The Opportunity
Our client is a rapidly expanding well respected business with a finance team that’s levelling up fast. They’re now looking for a Credit Manager who’s not just great with numbers - but brilliant with people, processes and performance.
If you love taking a good team and making it great, and you’re energised by improving workflows, tightening controls and building a best-in-class credit function, this role is absolutely your territory.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading and developing a credit control team of up to eight, with scope to grow as the business scales.
* Driving process improvements and efficiency gains across the credit function - smarter ways of working, fewer bottlenecks, better outcomes.
* Overseeing the full collections and aged debt process, keeping KPIs sharp and cashflow healthy.
* Embedding clear reporting, dashboards and performance metrics to improve visibility and accountability.
* Working closely with operations, finance and fee-earners to unblock issues and keep client relationships strong.
* Reviewing and enhancing credit policies, controls, and workflows as the organisation evolves.
* Coaching, mentoring and upskilling the team - building capability, confidence and consistency.
You’ll shine in this role if you…
* Have solid experience in credit control or collections management, ideally in a service-led environment.
* Know how to drive efficiencies, standardise processes and make a function run smoother than it did yesterday.
* Bring a natural leadership style: supportive, approachable, clear, fair - able to get the best out of people.
* Understand how to balance commercial awareness with customer service.
* Communicate confidently with stakeholders across the business - from junior staff to senior leadership and external clients.
* Love structure, continuous improvement and organised workflows (chaos is not your aesthetic).
Why this role stands out
* A genuinely growing team where your ideas will be listened to - and implemented.
* Huge scope to shape the function, upgrade processes and build something scalable.
* A collaborative culture with a CFO who values operational excellence.
* Hybrid working and progression as the business continues to scale.
