Role: Service Controller / Coordinator
Work type: 5x in Office (8am - 4.30pm)
Salary: Up to 32k
Location: Chelmsford or Ipswich Office
We’re looking for a Service Controller to join a fast-growing materials handling business. In this pivotal operational role, you’ll manage the end-to-end service workflow - handling customer requests, allocating engineers, coordinating parts, and planning routine maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage inbound customer calls, emails, and service requests
* Log and track breakdowns, inspections, and service jobs
* Schedule engineers efficiently based on priority, skillset, and location
* Coordinate parts orders and deliveries
* Plan routine servicing and preventative maintenance
* Monitor job progress, engineer utilisation, and completion timelines
* Keep customers informed of job status and resolutions
* Ensure accurate job closure and escalate issues as needed
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in service coordination, scheduling, or operational control (engineering, plant, fleet, or logistics preferred)
* Strong organisational and planning skills, able to manage multiple priorities
* Confident communicator with attention to detail
* Calm under pressure and commercially aware
* IT competent; experience with service management or ERP systems advantageous
* Materials handling/forklift experience is a plus
