Job Description:
Join our client’s Children’s Trust as a Senior Practitioner within the Children in Care (CIC) Team based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, delivering high-quality services to children and young people in care.
You will play a key role in managing complex cases, supporting court processes, and ensuring that care planning meets statutory requirements and promotes positive outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert social work practice within the Children in Care Team, ensuring compliance with legislation and Birmingham Children’s Trust procedures.
2. Manage complex cases, including those requiring court involvement, and provide high-quality reports and evidence.
3. Undertake assessments, care planning, and reviews, ensuring the child’s voice is central to all decisions.
4. Offer guidance and support to less experienced team members, promoting best practice.
5. Work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
6. Maintain accurate and timely case records and reports in line with professional standards.

Requirements:
10. Social Work England registration
11. Eligible to work in the UK
12. Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience in a permanent role (DFE requirement)
13. CIC and court experience essential
14. Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
