Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Protection and Control Design Engineer to join our growing power systems team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and analysis of secondary systems, with a strong focus on power system studies and protection scheme development for transmission and distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and development of protection and control systems for substations (HV/MV/LV).
* Perform sequence network analysis, load flow, fault level, and harmonic studies using industry-standard software.
* Calculate and validate protection relay settings and coordination (e.g., distance, differential, overcurrent, earth fault).
* Develop plug setting calculations and protection philosophies in line with client and regulatory requirements.
* Design and review schematics, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and secondary system layouts.
* Prepare and review detailed SLDs, protection panel layouts, and interlocking schemes.
* Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NERC, and local utility standards.
* Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) when required.
* Provide technical mentorship and oversight to junior engineers and review deliverables.
* Liaise with clients, OEMs, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of engineering packages.
* Contribute to proposal writing, estimation, and scoping of new protection design projects.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering.
* 5+ years of experience in P&C engineering within the transmission/distribution sector.

* Load flow and short circuit analysis
* Harmonic studies
