The vacancy
Hours: 25 hours per week
Shift: Working between the hours of 11-4.
We are currently looking to recruit a Reminiscence Coordinator to join our Extra Care team here at Housing 21.
Within the role of Reminiscence Coordinator you will create a range of activities for groups of residents and for individuals based upon their life histories, personal preferences and abilities. You will coach care staff in how to deliver activities to individuals in a way that meets their needs and is developed through having an in-depth knowledge of the residents' life experience, skills and interests.
The successful candidate will ensure that they fully understand and fulfil their responsibilities in respect of both Health & Safety, Diversity & Inclusion and GDPR Protection at all times.
The post holder will also be expected to create group activity plans for the residents based upon their wishes and abilities. The post holder will also be able to create individual activity plans for residents using information from their life histories, spending time with residents, their families and from carers.

What we're looking for
The essential requirements for the role include:
* Understanding of the behaviours of individuals with early cognitive impairment and dementia
* Experience of working with people with Dementia
* Experience of organising specialised Dementia activities
* Level 2 Award in Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care (QCF) or be prepared to learn towards
