We are looking for experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our mixed ward Assessment Unit. Successful candidates will work with a multidisciplinary team caring for adult inpatients on an assessment ward. Your role will involve holistic patient care, engaging with carers and relatives, and collaborating with medical and therapy staff. Adaptability, high-quality care, and a passion for patient wellbeing are essential qualities we seek in our staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the daily operation of the ward and contribute to team development.
2. Act as a Key Worker within the multidisciplinary team, providing role modeling, liaising with professionals and agencies, and supporting the clinical team.
3. Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives, visitors, and staff; manage clinical risks by assessing, identifying, and care planning for risks, and communicate concerns within the team.
4. Ensure the proper use of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act, and prepare reports for hearings and tribunals.
5. Administer medication safely and in accordance with standards.
6. Support interventions for managing violence and aggression, including de-escalation and physical intervention techniques.
7. Work flexibly over a 24-hour schedule to meet operational needs.
8. Complete mandatory training, participate in appraisals, stay updated on Trust policies, and provide supervision as appropriate.
9. Collaborate with partner organizations, patients, carers, and colleagues to deliver a 24/7 service, working shifts as required.
