About The Role
Are you passionate about enabling people affected by dementia to share their experiences and be heard? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Local Involvement activities enable people living with dementia to engage in meaningful activities within a group setting, either online or face-to-face, and to have a voice. They do this by using their experiences to influence the work of Alzheimer's Society and the health and social care environment to improve their quality of life.
You’ll help set up the room, tidy away at the end, prepare and distribute refreshments. You’ll welcome and converse with people living with dementia, assist them in engaging with activities, and support online participants to join discussions. Some light administrative duties, such as registering attendees or taking meeting notes, may also be involved.
As an Involvement Support Volunteer, you will join a team of fantastic volunteers supporting the Alzheimer’s Society Coventry team in delivering a range of activities, support, and information groups.
We are seeking an Involvement Support Volunteer for our Dementia-Friendly Focus Group at the Community Dementia Partnership Hub, Coventry CV64DT, held on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Meetings empower people living with dementia to influence change in their community and nationally, supporting the work of Alzheimer’s Society. It is an opportunity to share experiences, create friendships, and be part of a welcoming environment.
You will be supported by a friendly team, including a group facilitator and Dementia Advisers.
