Your NewpanyThis is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist secondary school in North Manchester that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school ismitted to providing a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment where students are supported both academically and emotionally. With small class sizes, a strong pastoral system, and a dedicated staff team, the school offers a positive and collaborative working culture. This is a full-time role starting in September. It is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to be permanent depending on performance and fit within the team.
Your New JobAs a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will teach general science, with the opportunity to focus on your subject specialism, and will play a key role in helping students re-engage with learning and develop confidence in their abilities. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Planning and delivering high-quality science lessons tailored to individual needs
2. Creating a supportive and stimulating classroom environment
3. Supporting students with SEMH needs to access the curriculum
4. Working closely with teaching assistants and pastoral staff
5. Contributing to the wider schoolmunity and ethos
What You'll Need to Succeed
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
7. Experience teaching Science at secondary level
8. A strong understanding of SEMH needs and inclusive teaching strategies
9. Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
10. A calm, resilient, and flexible approach
