Rate of Pay £12.21 per hour + £2 per hour extra for picking up bank shifts above contracted hours

Lime Tree House requires experienced care assistants to work day/night shifts.

Purpose of Role

* To deliver (under supervision) all aspects of care duties required to meet the needs of residents and to promote privacy, respect, dignity and independence.
* To help in the care of the residents physical environment and in the general day to day activities of the home.

Role Responsibilities

Delivering Care and Support

* Establish, maintain and further develop positive communication and effective working relationships with residents.
* Provide personalised, physical, emotional and social care and support in accordance with the residents personal care and support plans.
* Support and further promote choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfillment and other rights for residents.
* Maintain positive professional relationships with the resident's family, friends and other stakeholders, including advocates, where involved.
* Work as proactive and supportive member of the staff team.
* Establish, maintain and further develop positive communication and effective working relationships within the staff team and with other professionals who provide input into the home.
* Take responsibility for the safe handling of property and equipment belonging residents
* Provide support to residents by actively talking with and listening to them about matters they consider important to discuss.
* Accompany the resident on trips into the community and on holidays when required.
* Assist the resident to manage their personal affairs in accordance with Company Policy.

Safeguarding

* Promptly report any safeguarding concerns about the care, support, well-being or behaviour of residents to the line manager and update electronic records accordingly.
* Recognise the signs of abuse as identified in the Company's Safeguarding Policy and immediately report witnessed or suspected abuse to the line Manager.

Recording and Reporting

* Maintain accurate electronic records in respect of care and support given and tasks undertaken
* Regularly read electronic care and support plans, acknowledging changes in the needs of residents.
* Protect the confidentiality of all information relating to residents and ensure that this is NOT shared to anyone other than the staff team, unless given permission to do so by the line manager.
* Report all complaints made by residents, relatives, visitors or others to the line manager at the time they are raised.

Health and Safety

* Adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Use manual handling equipment safely and correctly.
* Ensure as safe living environment for the resident, whilst also respecting their choices and rights and to report concerns of safety to the line manager if this is not possible.
* Use personal protective equipment as required.
* Complete all mandatory training within timescales identified by the Company.
* Observe all health & safety rules and take reasonable care to promote health and safety of self and others.
* Report health and safety concerns (if identified) to the line manager.

General

* Follow the dress code detailed in the Company's Employee Handbook
* Attend and participate in regular Care Worker team meetings and any other relevant meetings.
* Attend in house and external training pertinent to the role of Care Worker.
* Seek out best practice and look at innovative ways to improve the quality and efficiency of service deliver.
* Record working times via an electronic clocking in system and ensure that timesheets are submitted on time.
* Comply with all Company Policies and Procedures.
* Any other duties requested by Senior Management, which are within the scope of the post.

PERSON SPECIFICATION – ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Self motivated
* Organised
* Flexible
* Caring
* Sensitive to the needs of others and to the sick and infirm.
* An active team player but able to work on own initiative.
* A good communicator.
* Must be Vaccinated as per Government Requirements

All staff are required to respect the confidentiality of all matters that they might learn in the course of their employment. All staff must ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
