Your new roleReporting to the Senior Accountant, you will be undertaking varied financial tasks that will culminate in the production of the forecast, management accounts and balance sheets for a number of legal entities within the group. They are embarking on significant change projects across the finance function and operations, therefore you will need to have a positive and proactive approach to process & systems improvements and a desire to help drive profitability and efficiency across the business.Duties will include:
* Preparation of individual Management Accounts & issuing to Senior Managers.
* Co-ordinating monthly P&L performance review meetings with the GM and operations team.
* Working with the GM to ensure profitability is maximised.
* Monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
* Accruals/prepayments and posting monthly journals as required
* Intercompany transfers
* Monthly sales & purchase ledger processing
* Updating the fixed asset register monthly, including posting depreciations
* Assisting in ad hoc tasks/projects
What you'll need to succeed
* You will ideally be AAT level 4 or beyond in terms of qualification, with previous relevant accounting experience within a group or practice environment.
* You will have good IT skills, including Excel, Sage 50 and/or other accounting software, e.g. MS Dynamics/SAP/Oracle etc.
* You will have good interpersonal skills and be commercially focused and will bring the numbers to life for the GM and operations team, to help drive business decisions.
* You will have good attention to detail, self-managing and creative problem-solving skills.
* Resilient, excited about change and a good problem-solver.
