About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities team based in Sedgefield. In this role, you’ll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical building systems.
You’ll be part of a professional team working in a clean, safety-focused environment - where health and safety compliance is key. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, and able to communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues to ensure a first-class maintenance service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out electrical PPM and reactive maintenance on a range of building services and systems.
2. Respond to breakdowns and faults, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum.
3. Work as part of the on-call rota (1-in-4) with a £150 retainer.
4. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with site health & safety procedures - including wearing appropriate PPE such as gowns, hairnets, and safety gear.
5. Conduct fault-finding, testing, and inspection of electrical systems.
6. Complete job sheets, reports, and maintenance records accurately.
7. Communicate effectively with the client and site team to ensure satisfaction and high service standards.
8. Support continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to maintenance processes.
Requirements
9. Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2365, 2330, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
10. 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification (essential).
11. Proven experience in building services maintenance or a facilities management environment.
12. Strong knowledge of PPM schedules, reactive maintenance, and fault-finding.
13. A commitment to health and safety best practices.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
15. A proactive and hardworking attitude - someone who takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile for clients.
