The Business Unit Quality Engineer supports all team members and suppliers to ensure product conformance and enhance customer experience by maintaining quality systems, procedures, and work instructions, while driving continual improvement and meeting customer quality metrics.
This full-time, office-based role at our Bridport Head Office involves working hours of 08:15 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday (with a 30-minute lunch) and 08:15 – 12:45 on Friday, with some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
1. Performing FAIR documents in line with AS9102 Rev C standards on internally manufactured products.
2. Collating, evaluating, and analyzing data related to product and quality within the ERP system (Syteline).
3. Providing reports to the Quality Manager using Microsoft Office tools.
4. Investigating non-conformance issues, initiating corrective actions, and supporting others using Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology.
5. Disposing and segregating non-conforming products and facilitating rapid resolution of quality issues.
6. Conducting internal audits, either as part of a team or as a team leader.
7. Maintaining calibration systems for measuring equipment.
8. Promoting awareness of Quality Assurance, rectifying weaknesses, and improving processes in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
9. Providing advice and guidance on quality issues to other functions, ensuring customer requirements are met.
10. Supporting a culture of continuous improvement and participating in improvement programs.
11. Staying updated on Quality issues through training, seminars, and publications.
12. Fostering cooperation and high morale within the department.
13. Complying with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
14. Developing inspection plans for received products as required.
15. Performing other tasks necessary for the effective operation of the Quality Department.

Specific Skill Requirements
Education
Preferably a CQI Diploma in Quality or similar; experience with AS9100D, EASA Part 21G, Part 145, or Part 21J is advantageous. Other relevant qualifications include an HNC in Engineering or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
Experience
Experience in Quality Assurance, ideally within the aerospace industry, familiar with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. Knowledge of AS9102 FAIRs, textile testing, and measurement procedures is preferred. IT literacy with spreadsheets and word processing is required.
