Head of Sales | Homewares Sector | West Midlands | £Competitive + Bonus

Are you a commercially driven sales leader looking for the opportunity to transform and build a sales function within a successful, established business?

Our client is a well-respected UK wholesaler operating within the homewares sector. With a strong customer base, recognised product offering and robust operational infrastructure, the business is now focused on accelerating growth and strengthening its commercial capability.

As part of this journey, they are seeking an experienced Head of Sales to lead the development of a proactive, high-performing sales organisation capable of delivering sustainable and profitable growth.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the commercial agenda within a profitable and growing business.

Historically, success has been built through strong customer service, product quality and operational excellence. The next phase of growth requires a commercially focused leader who can introduce greater structure, accountability and customer development while identifying new opportunities across multiple sales channels.

You will have significant autonomy to review, shape and enhance the sales function, influencing strategy, team structure, processes and future resource requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement a clear sales strategy aligned with business objectives.
* Lead and develop the existing sales team, creating a proactive and performance-driven culture.
* Introduce KPI-led performance management and clear account ownership.
* Identify opportunities to grow revenue and margin across existing customers.
* Drive customer acquisition and new business development initiatives.
* Build and strengthen relationships with key accounts and strategic customers.
* Analyse customer and sales data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
* Work closely with senior leadership to support business planning and growth initiatives.
* Review and improve sales processes, systems and commercial structures.

About You

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially astute sales leader with the ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.

You will ideally possess:

* Proven sales leadership experience within wholesale, distribution or multi-channel trading environments.
* A track record of delivering commercial growth and driving change.
* Strong customer development and key account management experience.
* Experience leading and developing successful sales teams.
* Excellent analytical and commercial decision-making skills.
* The ability to influence stakeholders and challenge the status quo constructively.
* Sector experience within homewares or related industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
