Job description:
* Lead and deliver the English curriculum to KS2-4 pupils, with complex SEND, including ASC and ADHD
* Monitor student engagement and progress as well as the quality of teaching
* Lead the English team, including through meetings and mentoring, and managing ECTs
* Lead whole-school English
* Creating a healthy learning environment for pupils to thrive in through adapted teaching
* Salary: £50,258 - £53,833 (DOE)
* Full-time, permanent
Person specification:
* Previous experience working with KS2-KS4 pupils, preferably with SEND
* Full competency with the English curriculum
* Experience in a specialist provision is desirable but not essential
* Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
* Strong communication, classroom management and interpersonal skills
* A clear dedication and passion for working with SEND students
* QTS or QTLS
The role would suit an individual that is enthusiastic about providing specialised teaching to secondary-aged pupils, with an ambition to for future leadership opportunities. It is important that the Teacher has extensive experience teaching the English curriculum up to GCSE level. To provide tailored, personalised learning, high staff to pupil ratios are important, with no more than 6 pupils in each class.
