Are you a recent graduate or someone looking to take a step into the world of digital marketing? We have a 6 month fixed term role as a Marketing Assistant – a great opportunity to learn in a busy digital marketing agency, with the potential for the role to become permanent at the end of the six months if there is a capacity requirement.
We are looking for a Marketing Executive to join our team. The role will span a range of marketing tasks across the business including content creation, social media updates and helping to run our bi‑monthly event (Manchester DM) in addition to supporting our Digital PR team in creating newsworthy campaigns designed to secure coverage from journalists while building high‑quality links and brand mentions for our clients.
This is a hands‑on role that will run across our teams. You will work across both data‑led and reactive PR campaigns, helping to secure coverage and links for clients and Cedarwood from the outset through the production of high‑quality campaigns. The role will involve supporting account leads with campaign research, development, and identifying reactive PR opportunities.
On marketing you will work across our website and social media helping to build an audience and engage our existing audience. This will include content creation across blog posts, case studies and whitepapers, in addition to managing events and webinars and supporting the wider team on content where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct data analysis for Digital PR campaigns, helping to identify story angles and opportunities for media coverage
* Support the Digital PR team in developing campaigns that generate high-quality links and brand mentions
* Undertake FOI requests, analyse publicly available datasets and draw insights from consumer research to develop campaign angles
* Create compelling press releases, email pitches and campaign landing pages that translate data into newsworthy content
* Managing and creating the Cedarwood social media strategy
* Creating written, video and photo content for each social media channel in addition to the Cedarwood website
* Creating content for the website marketing - blog posts, case studies, whitepapers in addition to working with team members to generate content around trending topics - and leveraging this content across our social channels
* Creating PR campaigns for the Cedarwood website to acquire links to the site including researching, press release creation and outreach (Training provided by Digital PR team)
* Supporting on marketing events including launching a new webinar series and Manchester DM as well as ad hoc
Key Skills & Experience
* Minimum Grade B in English & Maths at GSCE
* Excellent written communication skills and strong English language ability
* Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlinesStrong research ability and attention to detail
* Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced Excel skills are desirable but not essential)
* Transferable work experience is desirable but not essential
* A keen interest in PR, media and content, with an understanding of what makes a compelling news story
* A willingness to learn and develop within a fast‑paced agency environment.
