Job overview
We are looking for a highly organised and confident Admin Facilitator with strong motivation to work within the field of research. Ideally, you will have some experience working in NHS or in a clinical research environment, face-to-face patient care, handling clinical records and performing all admin duties within the research unit of the day-to-day activities.
You will be required to interact and engage with participants throughout the study period, answer any questions, liaise with multidisciplinary teams and various stakeholders. You will be expected to support the assessment and management of care pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical trials. Where appropriate to carry out or assist in clinical trials with data entry.
You should be excellent in interpersonal and communication skills, with an aptitude for paperwork, high attention to detail and thrive in a team environment. You will be required to perform administrative tasks relating to clinical research, for example, site file maintenance, data management, invoicing, organising meetings, maintenance of spreadsheets and trackers. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is ideal for this role.
The role will be offered for one year in the first instance with a possibility to become permanent.
Main duties of the job
1. Assist the lead PRRU manager in the organisation of the department in an economic and effective manner and contribute to the provision of a high quality service.
2. To support the research delivery teams in the facilitation of efficient, safe and participant focused research
3. Facilitate the booking and scheduling of study participant appointments within the research unit
4. To demonstrate an awareness of the life cycle of a research project from inception to study close out supporting all administrative protocol related tasks to include
5. Maintenance of Investigator Site File
6. Timely collection and proper filing of essential documents in line with study protocols and Good Clinical Practice
7. Accurate transfer of source data to case report form
8. Archiving of closed studies
9. To act as the first point of contact for clinical staff and patients dealing with both face to face and telephone enquiries and correspondence in an effective, courteous and timely manner
10. To be responsible for the day to day organisation of the research office; handling mail, maintaining adequate stationery supplies and ordering of necessary supplies and equipment
11. To work collaboratively well with other participating centres and ensuring that data is captured accordingly.
