This role is term time only, £101.40 to £105 per day, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 4pm

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

* Support pupils with a range of additional needs including autism (from low to high support needs), PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), and speech/language communication differences
* Help young people who may be at risk of exclusion, disengagement, or interaction with the youth justice system
* Use neurodiversity-informed approaches to reduce anxiety, build routines, and scaffold communication and regulation
* Empower pupils to develop emotional resilience, self-awareness, and healthy peer relationships
* Be a consistent, trusted adult figure in a trauma-informed setting

This role is ideal if you’re pursuing a career in:

* Youth Justice or Probation Services
* Behavioural or Educational Psychology
* Social Work or Family Intervention
* Prison, Court, or Community Rehabilitation Services
* Social Justice and Policy Development

Aspiring Criminal Justice Officer – Learning Support Assistant Oxford

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

* Providing structured 1:1 and small group support to learners with SEN, SEMH, and autism spectrum conditions
* Delivering behaviour and sensory regulation strategies that consider individual neurocognitive profiles
* Assisting with personalised learning plans that reflect emotional needs and educational goals
* Supporting pupils in developing executive function, social reasoning, and life skills
* Liaising with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor progress and adapt interventions
* Participating in de-escalation and relational behaviour support (training provided)

Who We’re Looking For:

* Graduates in Criminology, Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, or Humanities – with interests in Education, trauma, mental health, SEN and anthropology
* Non Graduates – relatable experience is key here, especially sincerity – I would love to hear from youy
* Future professionals in social justice, safeguarding, or rehabilitation
* Empathetic, non-judgemental communicators with a genuine interest in neurodivergence and inclusion
* Individuals open to learning about autistic identity, sensory processing, and non-verbal communication
* Previous experience in education, care, or youth services is welcome, but not essential

You’ll need:

* The ability to build trust and rapport quickly
* An Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
